Day 91 - Lilacs

I am happy to have a fantastic Lilac bush in my back yard.  I love when they start coming in in the beginning of Spring, the smell of them bring back so many childhood memories, as one of the homes I grew up in had a back yard lined in lilac bushes.

I had a fun evening with my Dad.  We enjoyed the musical talents of "Simply Barbabra".  Then enjoyed a yummy dinner at Rosebud.

Naperville has plenty of great treats to offer those out and about for the weekend.

Day 84 - Thirsty

Just as I enjoy so much spending time with my children and learning about them and getting to know their personalities. 

I love spending time with my 'furkids' my Cats and all the things that make each of them different make me smile.

Day 79 - Flowering Tree

There is this tree in my front yard that gets these huge white flowers before it starts to get leaves.  Then they fall off.  I look forward to watching it flower each Spring. 

When I see these giant flowers on this tree, I know Spring is finally here.

It's an ice cream kind of day.  My favorite kind of ice cream is vanilla.  I know... boring.  My favorite yogurt is vanilla, I like plain toast and plain bagels... Chocolate Chip Cookies without the chocolate chips... I'm an odd one ;)  What's YOUR favorite Ice Cream?

Day 75 - Ack!

Ack!  It's an Alien!

The kids have loved these things for years.  Walgreen's sells them now and then and we always have to pick a few of them up when they have them.  Squishy, Fun to Throw, They light up when they bump into stuff... bug eyed... who couldnt LOVE these! ;)  Mine is always the Orange one ;)

Day 74 - Cellphone Vintage Preset

I took a photo of this tree with my cellphone on my walk home with the kids from their school today.

I am still horribly entertained by how fun it is to take pictures with my new cellphone.  Even more entertained by the fun Presets you can apply to the photos.  Fun Fun.  It takes to very little to entertain me ;)

Day 73 - Broccoli

Never really thinking about it before having to come up with a photo of the day... what vegetable frequents YOUR table most often?  Broccoli is on our plates at 'minimum' once a week, sometimes up to 2 to 3 times a week.

For me its "Once Upon a Time" its something new and different outside of my typical 'crime shows' that I typically watch. 

Day 71 - CMYK Silverware

That darn Magenta toner always giving me trouble on my laser printer... yep... has nothing to do with the picture.... but inspired me to separate out the photo ;)

Day 70 - Cellphone Panorama

As the day moves on & I find myself at Walgreen's to drop off a Redbox movie & pick up a new one I find myself wondering how well my cellphones Panorama functions.  I always thought Sony's in camera Panorama feature's were pretty neat without having to stitch together the individual photos yourself.

I parked at the end of the parking lot and gave it a go.  Not to bad for being a cellphone & it being night time.  I like it... larger scale photo... and a city... I can see how Panoramas are fun.

Day 69 - Shades of Gray

Sometimes the most interesting photographs are the most simple... and are often objects around you all the time, you just need to see them from a different perspective. 

Day 68 - Eggcellent

After yesterdays balancing feat and seeing them balance the egg on snopes, I just HAD to try that too ;)
Admittedly balancing the egg took longer than the broom, it wasn't just 'presto let-go' *balance!* 

I had to try about 3 different eggs after spending about 20 mins with each one of them.

 Then what do you know we have a winner!

I knocked it down to try to balance it on video... yea didn't happen a 2nd time ;)  anyway makes for a fun picture!

Day 67 - Balance your Brooms

So I wake up this morning to find Facebook filled with people balancing their brooms... why? I havent any clue, something to do with the alining of planets or something mystic, or a symbol of the beginning of spring and something to do with the equinox is what I see in various posts... I raise an eye brow... always the skeptic grab my broom... set it on end & let go...

Ok... always the party pooper, you have to tell me, a broom doesnt 'always' do this?  Do we 'often' go standing our brooms or 'eggs' on end to see if they stay?  I am betting not.  Either way... I gotta say the kids were mystified at my balancing act as I snapped my photo as I told them *I* was magic ;)

Of course as with many 'email forwards' or rumors/urban legends, I hit snopes & I will paste a link on what they have to say rather than copying and pasting their material.

Day 66 - Gnomes

I've always loved lawn Gnomes.  As it seems... not all lawn Gnomes are created equal.  Poor Gnomes... winter did not treat them well...

Day 65 - Love of Reading

I am blessed with children who have a love of reading.  They did not start that way, I had to find what motivated them to read at first.  To start off, I found they had little interest in 'stories' but in reading non-fiction.  They read better when they were actually learning about something real.  This motivated them as I checked them out books by subject that interested them at various times, bugs, animals, as they progressed in their reading they went straight into chapter books of their choosing.  Always more interesting if they picked it out themselves.

I only wish I could share their passion of reading, I have checked out several books right along side them from the library, my problem, I get a page or to in, I zonk right out, I joke that I'm a book narcoleptic, but seriously, its what happens, totally weird.  I have not finished a full book in probably a good decade because of it LOL... well aside from bedtime stories ;)

I feel that quiet time and daily reading for children is very important.

Day 64 - Trees 'via HTC Amaze'

So as it seems, not only do I enjoy taking photos 'OF' my cellphone, but just as much I enjoy taking photos WITH my cellphone.  I am awestruck by the quality of the images.  Perhaps it comes from only upgrading every 5 years and my last cellphone only took 1.3 megapixel photos.  After all that's what phones are for right?  Taking pictures?!  LOL, I don't know... I'm just Amazed, every time I take a photo and look down at the screen. 

Handy little thing to have in your pocket, that's for sure.  Never miss a moment ;)

While out today I took a picture of these trees.  I am hoping to be 'closer' to them real soon ;)

Day 63 - Phone Bowling

As I post this I am reminded of the 4-6 free bowling coupons I have in my purse somewhere since my nieces birthday party pictured on Day 22, the 1 or 2 games I played I was reminded how much fun it was and that I should return with some friends & perhaps with a Margarita or Beer, you know to improve my game. ;)

Back to this post, since I got my new phone I have found I never really use my computer any more.  Other than to upload / work with photos etc.  Aside from that my phone has everything else I need, my email, check in on Facebook now and then, time wasting games, the ability to google... what else could one ask for?  It took me a bit... but I now am hooked on my Smart Phone.

Day 62 - Cousins

The best memories are made with cousins.  The mischief to be had during family events, born to be best friends.

I have many great memories of times shared with my cousins, so when I see my children with theirs, it brings back so many great memories, the silly adventures, fun and games.

When my Sisters Kids and my Kids get together they are quite the bunch.  Same ages, they are full of unstoppable fun.

My Sister, Brother in Law & Children are moving out of state soon.  Gives us a great place to visit.  We are sad to see them go, at the same time excited for what the future brings them.

Day 61 - Daddy Daughter Dance

Zoe's first Dance, with her Daddy, at the Daddy Daughter Dance.  Her father was relieved to find out that really it was Daddy goes to dance... Daughter screams and dances with all her friends a whole lot while he sits on the sidelines with all the other fathers. ;)  She had a BLAST!  He was happy to take her :)
