Day 67 - Balance your Brooms

So I wake up this morning to find Facebook filled with people balancing their brooms... why? I havent any clue, something to do with the alining of planets or something mystic, or a symbol of the beginning of spring and something to do with the equinox is what I see in various posts... I raise an eye brow... always the skeptic grab my broom... set it on end & let go...

Ok... always the party pooper, you have to tell me, a broom doesnt 'always' do this?  Do we 'often' go standing our brooms or 'eggs' on end to see if they stay?  I am betting not.  Either way... I gotta say the kids were mystified at my balancing act as I snapped my photo as I told them *I* was magic ;)

Of course as with many 'email forwards' or rumors/urban legends, I hit snopes & I will paste a link on what they have to say rather than copying and pasting their material.

Day 66 - Gnomes

I've always loved lawn Gnomes.  As it seems... not all lawn Gnomes are created equal.  Poor Gnomes... winter did not treat them well...

Day 65 - Love of Reading

I am blessed with children who have a love of reading.  They did not start that way, I had to find what motivated them to read at first.  To start off, I found they had little interest in 'stories' but in reading non-fiction.  They read better when they were actually learning about something real.  This motivated them as I checked them out books by subject that interested them at various times, bugs, animals, as they progressed in their reading they went straight into chapter books of their choosing.  Always more interesting if they picked it out themselves.

I only wish I could share their passion of reading, I have checked out several books right along side them from the library, my problem, I get a page or to in, I zonk right out, I joke that I'm a book narcoleptic, but seriously, its what happens, totally weird.  I have not finished a full book in probably a good decade because of it LOL... well aside from bedtime stories ;)

I feel that quiet time and daily reading for children is very important.

Day 64 - Trees 'via HTC Amaze'

So as it seems, not only do I enjoy taking photos 'OF' my cellphone, but just as much I enjoy taking photos WITH my cellphone.  I am awestruck by the quality of the images.  Perhaps it comes from only upgrading every 5 years and my last cellphone only took 1.3 megapixel photos.  After all that's what phones are for right?  Taking pictures?!  LOL, I don't know... I'm just Amazed, every time I take a photo and look down at the screen. 

Handy little thing to have in your pocket, that's for sure.  Never miss a moment ;)

While out today I took a picture of these trees.  I am hoping to be 'closer' to them real soon ;)

Day 63 - Phone Bowling

As I post this I am reminded of the 4-6 free bowling coupons I have in my purse somewhere since my nieces birthday party pictured on Day 22, the 1 or 2 games I played I was reminded how much fun it was and that I should return with some friends & perhaps with a Margarita or Beer, you know to improve my game. ;)

Back to this post, since I got my new phone I have found I never really use my computer any more.  Other than to upload / work with photos etc.  Aside from that my phone has everything else I need, my email, check in on Facebook now and then, time wasting games, the ability to google... what else could one ask for?  It took me a bit... but I now am hooked on my Smart Phone.

Day 62 - Cousins

The best memories are made with cousins.  The mischief to be had during family events, born to be best friends.

I have many great memories of times shared with my cousins, so when I see my children with theirs, it brings back so many great memories, the silly adventures, fun and games.

When my Sisters Kids and my Kids get together they are quite the bunch.  Same ages, they are full of unstoppable fun.

My Sister, Brother in Law & Children are moving out of state soon.  Gives us a great place to visit.  We are sad to see them go, at the same time excited for what the future brings them.

Day 61 - Daddy Daughter Dance

Zoe's first Dance, with her Daddy, at the Daddy Daughter Dance.  Her father was relieved to find out that really it was Daddy goes to dance... Daughter screams and dances with all her friends a whole lot while he sits on the sidelines with all the other fathers. ;)  She had a BLAST!  He was happy to take her :)
