Moving On...

Day 190 - Max Drive In

Trying to decide what to photograph when obviously there are 'things' all around, sometimes proves to be 'difficult' so I decided for at least 'awhile' unless a 'holiday' or 'event' comes up I shall have 'theme weeks' this weeks theme "All Max" He is a silly kitty, often seen laying on the floor on his back watching the world upside down.

Day 189 - Vegan PB Banana Muffins

No Cereal, No Milk, No Eggs, no Butter for toast even... what to do... I could make muffins 'Vegan Style' I have nearly over ripe bananas on the counter... so muffin ready. 

Vegan Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

Ingredients

4 ripeity ripe bananas (tho I had 3 & it turned out great)
1/2 cup smooth peanut butter
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup boiling water

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350F.  Line or grease muffin tins.
2. Mash bananas with the oil, peanut butter, and boiling water
3. Sift sugars, flour, baking soda and baking powder, and spices.  Gradually spoon into banana mixture.
4. Pour batter into muffin tins (more like scoop, this is a THICK batter). Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes until a toothpick can be extracted clean)
5. Cool for five minutes. Remove from muffin tin and glaze, if desired.

Peanut butter glaze

Ingredients

2/3 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon creamy peanut butter
2-4 tablespoons water

Directions

Add 1 tablespoon of water to the sugar, followed by the peanut butter.  Slowly add more water until the glaze reaches the desired consistency.  Pour over the cooling muffins.

These Muffins are so Moist and DELICIOUS!  They will make you want to dance ;)  The glaze is Amazing!  Do not skip that step.  I am pretty pleased that I had a lack of 'breakfast items' this morning to whip up these fantastic muffins!  We will certainly revisit these regularly.

Day 185 - Sweet Yuki

Late night, finally some time to myself.  Ahh the picture... dark out already... sky is not interesting... I hear 'booming' in the distance, tho cannot see the rogue fireworks to photograph them, tried to catch some fireflies, that gave me an idea for another day, back inside.

Resting on my blanket Yuki looked up at me, so I took her picture, she kept staring... she kinda started giving me the creeps... cats are good at that & they know it.

Day 153 - 182 / June

My 365 Project went on an unintended hiatus due to my going 'unplugged' for an unexpected extended amount of time.  At first it was really hard... all OMGEEE, I've lost my TV and my TV shows... Animal Planet, Food Network... flipping through channels to randomly find 'something' on, even tho we are provided with a guide channel, channel flipping pausing at something interesting until we become uninterested and flipping to the next.

Once bored with that, there was always Facebook, my regular online Photography Forums... all gone.  Days went by and suddenly I began to find myself enjoying a good book, looking to do crafts, wanting to organize and do 'busy work' around the house while listening to the radio.  This 'unplugged' thing was EYEOPENING.

In talking with my husband I told him how much we could really save by NOT turning our cable back ON, by just having internet, even when we got that back, I found myself not really going to my desk to use it, it just was not 'that' interesting anymore.  Sure I wondered what was 'happening' on our favorite shows, so we've picked up Netflix and Hulu and can catch up on our shows 'when we want' but even then, we still, rarely watch TV, when before, I will admit, the thing was 'always' on.  I feel like now we all spend more time together, during this unplugged time my children learned to play chess and became REALLY good!  We didn't become 'unplugged' from technology by choice, but not we have removed some of it by choice by deciding to not have Cable Television, with this we save $100 a month, imagine that!

I felt that once I became 'unplugged' that this 365 project was 'failed'.  As there was no way to post daily photos.  However I have had many requests that now that I am online that I continue, no excuses ;)  "Thank You" :)

Day 150 - A Book for Max

Summer break begins in our home... the morning starts with some watching a movie, some playing legos, some taking in a good book... even one of our cats :)  He will work his way up to the big books in no time ;)  LOL.

Day 147 - Basement Spider

The kids run up from the Basement with excitement... The Basement Spider has caught an ant.  Cellphone caught the action.  We will have to keep this fellow around I think ;) 

Day 146 - Last Day 2nd Grade

Today marked the last day of 2nd Grade for my Kiddos.  They wore blank shirts to school for their friends and Teachers and Staff to sign.  Such a cute keepsake!

Day 143 - Save

Some like to spend... Some like to save... My kids LOVE putting their money in their piggy banks then taking it to their savings accounts, 5 year old savings goal... their first car... 8 year old savings goal a new bike... I'd say that's a pretty good goal that most of them have about met & I bet when they buy it themselves, they will take better care of it too ;)

Mothers Day 2012 my kiddo's present me with a Yoda (given to me early a few weeks ago), Cards & some coasters they made at school out of tiles.  2 of the coasters are still at school and will come home on Monday.  Lucky me I get presents in SETS, I LOVE IT! :)
